Sriramsagar (Pochampad) Hydro Power Station Stage-II (1X9 MW) Sailent Features Installed Capacity Stage-I - 3 x 9 MW (Existing) Total Project cost 27.75 Crores Location Nizambad, Andhra Pradesh River Godavari STATUS OF WORKS AS ON 01.11.2010 v The Sriram Sagar project at Pochampad was constructed as multi purpose Project and provision has been made to generate 36 MW power by providing four penstocks in the right flank of non-over flow portion of dam during construction of Dam by irrigation Department of Andhra Pradesh. v Three units of 9 MW capacity were installed and commissioned during1987-88, to utilize the water release of 6600 cusecs into Kakatiya canal. v The irrigation authorities have increased the discharges in the canal under stage II SRSP and the discharges are being maintained from 7200 cusecs to 9000 cusecs during last 2 years by raising the canal bunds and strengthening the lining of canal. v To make use of the additional release of water into Kakatiya canal mentioned above it is proposed to install 4th unit of 9.0 MW capacity at a cost of Rs.27.75 crores (Including IDC) .By installing the 4th Unit additional energy of 16.5 M.U per annum can be generated. v Purchase order was placed on M/s BHEL on 05.06.2006 for Supply and Supervision of Erection, Testing & Commissioning of 1 No. 9.0 MW capacity vertical type full Kaplan Turbine – Generator along with their associated auxiliary equipment at a total cost of 20.44Crores(including taxes and duties). v Zero date of the contract commenced from 28.06.2006. v Civil works contract awarded to M/s SRC Constructions Pvt. Ltd, Secunderabad, on 29.05.2007. v Erection contract for E&M works was awarded to M/s Steel Builders, Hyd on 20.9.2007. v Erection of switch yard Equipment is completed. v Erection and alignment of Turbine, Generator and its associated equipment is completed. v Dismantling of Bulk head at down stream and at up stream sides is completed. v The mechanical spinning was completed on 15.06.2010 by filling the penstock and opening the guide vanes up to 30%.The rated speed 250rpm was observed and found to be normal. v The Unit of Sriram Sagar (Pochampad) Hydro Power Station Stage-II (1X9MW) was synchronized with grid on 18.09.2010 at 21:00 hrs with a load of 3.25 MW and the 72 hours continuous operation test of Unit with a load of 9MW was commenced on 30.09.2010 at 23:00 Hrs and is completed on 03.10.2010 at 23:00 Hrs. v The Commercial Operation Date (COD) was also declared on 12.10.2010. The Unit is being kept in continuous service subjected to the availability of inflows and discharges. |
